So maybe I'm behind the meme, but I am just now catching up on this Cooks Source fiasco. For one side of the story see: http://illadore.livejournal.com/ and Sarah Lacy takes the Griggsian stance over on TechCrunch.
After a superficial reading of the 'facts,' I find the whole scenario simply hysterical (in both senses of the word). Could we have a better cast of characters? On one hand the villian: a seemingly illiterate, tone-deaf editor of a newsletter masquerading as a magazine who trolls the 'netz looking for material to ctrl-c ctrl-v. On the other hand the victim: a knitting, Middle Ages loving, recipe writing, LJ keeping author. And in between the real protagonist of our tale: the web itself in all of its freewheeling mob-justice glory... Standing up for the victim or simply looking for a victim of its own?
