Very easy to set up even for a non-geek. TypePad’s functionality is a subset of WordPress’ but within that subset TypePad is easier to use.

Dave Barnhart lays it out simply and in his typical straight-forward manner. There are many choices for creating and maintaining your online presence so it makes sense to really consider your choices and to think about exactly what you want from your blog.
TypePad is great for many reasons and many uses. WP.com is good for others and WP.org for others still. Dave doesn't get into Posterous, Blogger, Tumblr or others... but his approach is spot on. Think about what you need and make an informed choice.
If you're looking for ease-of-use, rock-solid stability, real support (from *gasp* real people who *gasp* will answer your email) and no questions about who decides which ads run where then TypePad is the choice for you.
At the moment, I'm preparing to attend Blogworld with some of my colleagues from SAY. This was a great read for preparing to walk those halls.
